STFU Rome report

The first edition of the STFU Festival in Rome was over last saturday but only now i feel calm enough to write about it. The 3 days have been great fun and the quality has been excellent.

On Thrusday was on the more experimental stuff with Bla (in the pic) painting 45 minutes of electric “ever changing” bubbles, followed by Unknown Forces of Everyday Life and the last set by swiss trio Diatribes totally rocking.

Then on friday Pierlu opened the night followed by the lovely set by Quip (in the pic), and after that my band took the stage for the more crowded concert of my life. Prugelknaben played the last set trying to overtop the chatting with tons of vocal layers sampled in real time.

Satuday was the shit: VC, with his minimal dubby rithms. Das Wesen (in the pic), on reaktor and electric bass, sampled chords and ultra variating beats. Millicent, manually synched, gave us 45 minutes of post-autechre techno. Dorian Concept, taking the funky shit out of his microkorg on some fluid and bouncy sketches of his tunes, melted togheter in a totally groovin’ set. Lematt, reading titles of my favourite tunes i don’t even know from my mind and playing them vinyl after vinyl.

So, for all of you who didn’t make it, see you next year, in the while check this couple of videos (more to come).
